I was thinking about how many strange words there are to describe furniture and intending to start a helpful little glossary of terms...which I will do...but first I got slightly distracted doing the research and have decided start a series on little known furniture words.
Word #1 Semainier
Meaning is "narrow upright cabinet with 7 drawers, one for each day of the week"
I'm guessing it rhymes with Tasmania but not sure because I've never had anyone say to me "its somewhere in the semainier". Sounds like a very useful piece for those on the highly organised end of the spectrum.
